The stability of a power system concerns the ability to regain an equilibrium state after being subjected to a physical disturbance. The stability of a synchronous generator as well as the power system network depends on among other parameters load angle, which is the angular displacement of the excitation voltage and terminal voltage of a generator. This paper studies the simulation of synchronous generator load angle measurement. A single machine to infinite bus system was modeled and a simpowersystems tool in simulink was used in carrying out the simulation. Results obtained revealed that load angle value remains constant during steady-state operation but a swing results when the balance between the input mechanical torque Tmi and the output electrical torque Te is upset.
