Portable water supply from the urban water board in Benin City, Nigeria is irregular. People depend on alternative sources for domestic water and one of the major source is borehole water. In this work we assess the quality of boreholes water in Benin City; samples were taken from some parts to represent the entire area. The physcio-chemical properties of the borehole water were analyzed and compared with world health organization (WHO) standard for portable water. It was discovered that the level of most parameters of water samples were outside the WHO standards It therefore recommended that water quality analysis be carried out every borehole water scheme and appropriate treatment be carried out on the water before consumption.
