A NOTE ON THE ITERATIVE APPROXIMATION OF THE SOLUTION OF AN ASYMPTOTICALLY K-POSITIVE DEFINITE OPERATOR EQUATION

In [3], we introduced the notion of an asymptotically K-positive definite operator equation and constructed an iteration sequence which converged to the unique solution of the equation Au = f, in a real uniformly smooth Banach space. The purpose of this note is to indicate that convergence is possible in an arbitrary real Banach space when A is Fréchet differentiable and K-positive definite.
